International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March and to mark the date, 7 of our very own Women of the Future were selected to attend an excellent event at TSB organised by the Women of the Future Programme.

Munajjina, Roba, Thanciya, Varniga, Malak, Vishani and Sahina travelled down to the TSB Head Offices in the City of London for the event. They found the experience extremely insightful, hearing from female representatives of the Banking and Finance industry who talked about their specific career  areas, the skills needed to work there and the routes into these areas. 

The girls reported back how they had benefited from  talks on a variety of topics including ‘What is Banking’ and Money Confidence: Independent living’. 

“A lot of the guest speakers had done different courses at university and were currently working with the bank which helped me understand that you don’t necessarily need to know what to do and it’s OK if you want to change your career later on.”
