PSHE

PSHE and Citizenship Curriculum intent

We aim to offer a vibrant and current curriculum through which all students develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe both mentally and physically, and prepare them for life and work in modern Britain.

Our Programme of Study for PSHE aims to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, team working and critical thinking in the context of learning grouped into three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and aspects of careers education).

The programme of study for Citizenship aims to foster students’ keen awareness and understanding of democracy, government and law, their skills and knowledge to explore political and social issues critically, weigh evidence, debate and make reasoned arguments, and prepare them to take their place as responsible citizens who will play a full and active part in society.
