Speech and Language Base
Preston Manor Speech and Language Base
Acting Manager for Speech and Language - Ms Carla Courtney
Preston Manor Speech and Language Base is an additionally resourced provision (ARP) for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Students are members of tutor groups and are taught curriculum subjects in a mainstream environment but in addition have access to specialist teaching, either individually or in small groups, and to speech and language therapy as their needs require.
Our speech and language therapist is in school for three days each week, working closely with specialist staff and subject teachers to support our students in accessing a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum.
Students also take part in additional activities designed to meet their individual needs. Groups are rum to foster expressive and receptive language skills; social communication skills and ease of transition between key stages such as moving on to GCSE work in year 10 or to Sixth Form or college in year 11.
For general enquiries please call the school between 8.30 and 4.30 Monday to Friday
