Year 12 students explore a week in the life of legal professionals

During half-term, five of our Year 12 students gave up their holiday to spend a very busy and productive week exploring a week in the lives of legal professionals at Paul Hastings and PGIM Fixed Income.
"At Paul Hastings, we were all assigned to a solicitor to shadow their daily activities" explained Elika. "I was able to attend meetings and learn about the instructions given during work to a solicitor and also learn negotiation skills and how to deal with different situations."
Eloisa enjoyed learning about credit funding and said, "I had little knowledge of, yet I found it very interesting as I was not fully aware that law firms focused on these types of topics."
Tia-Maria particularly liked learning about DE&I culture at PGIM. "This gave me an insight into the diversity and inclusion in a workspace as well as office culture. This showed me how office culture can be very inclusive and welcoming, providing a positive work environment and inclusion regardless of background. Furthermore, at Paul Hastings, I learnt about skills required for an interview and pre-recorded interviews giving me a clear understanding of the skills that are required during a job interview, such as communication skills and how to overcome stress and feelings of anxiety."
All the students would like to thank the staff at Paul Hastings and PGIM for the excellent time they spent with both companies and for the opportunities they had to learn so much.
