Joy and Celebration at Preston Manor Sixth Form Examination Results
The hard work and determination of students at Preston Manor Sixth Form has been rewarded again this year. Their grades have secured them excellent university places at a range of Russell Group and other top ranking universities including Imperial, Bath, KCL, Warwick and QMUL.
Having missed out on sitting their GCSEs in 2021 due to the COVID pandemic, there were some additional nerves amongst students who were experiencing the first year of the return to pre-c ovid examinations; but the students’ great efforts, resilience and the support of their teachers, have all played a key role in ensuring their success.
Parisa Elahi who achieved A,B,B will be studying at Queen Mary University to study English. “I am thankful to my mum for always pushing me to be the best that I can be and a special thanks to Ms Anand for all her support and kindness.”
Manisha Patel who achieved A, A, B, B is going to Imperial College, London, to study Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. "I joined the school in Year 7. I am so grateful to Preston Manor Sixth Form for all the amazing support over the last two years. Staff have guided me throughout and I am grateful for all they have done for me. To achieve these grades is a dream and I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life!"
Hajanujan Vasantharaja who achieved A, A, A, A secured a place at University of Bath to study Aerospace Engineering. “I am extremely pleased with my results and want to thank all the teachers who have supported me for the past two years!”
Iona Fernandes who achieved A*, A, A, will also be attending the University of Bath to study Economics. "I joined Preston Manor in Year 4, and I am so excited that I finished my journey on such a high note! I am immensely grateful for the support of my teachers who guided me throughout my time at the school."
Ms Wilding, Sixth form Lead. Progression & Enrichment, who has supported the students applying for university courses said “So many of our students have secured places on some fabulous courses at great universities. We are delighted with what they have achieved and wish them all the best for the future!"
Head of Upper School Stuart Taylor added: "We are proud of the aspiration and commitment of our students. They fully deserve their successes and are fabulous role models to the rest of our community on what can be achieved. We wish them well on the next stage of their careers!"
Ms Surani; Senior Assistant Head Teacher who leads the sixth form, stated: "Our students continue to achieve well, and this year is no exception! We must not underestimate the impact of COVID disruption and not being able to sit GCSE exams two years ago has had on this year group, and so we are really proud of what they have achieved."
