Year 10 visit to Infinity Energy

Our Year 10 students had an inspiring and hands-on learning experience during their visit to Infinity Energy this week. They were introduced to the vision and aims of the company by the founder before taking part in a guided tour of the showroom, where they could see energy-efficient technologies and solutions first-hand.

Students explored practical examples of heat pumps, insulation and solar panels, bringing to life technologies they had previously only learnt about in the classroom. Infinity Energy experts were on hand throughout the visit to answer questions about renewable energy and energy efficiency, while also sharing information about green career opportunities as the UK journeys towards Net Zero by 2050.

To conclude the workshop, students presented their ideas on how to make our school more sustainable, suggesting that we insulate the school's huts and classrooms to keep them warmer in winter and cooler in summer, install solar panels on school buildings to switch our energy supply to a renewable source and, most ambitiously, introduce electric vehicles and bikes for staff alongside charging points! It was a fantastic workshop and our Year 10 students thoroughly enjoyed visiting this local business that is working towards a more sustainable future.
