Year 10 visit Royal Society Summer Exhibition

On Friday 4 July, a group of excited Year 10 students visited the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2025.
This inspiring event brought together some of the UK’s most innovative scientists and their cutting-edge projects. We explored fascinating exhibits that showed us what science can really do. Algae Power revealed how algae could help create eco-friendly plastics and clean energy.
Seismic Senses let us experience how animals like elephants and spiders sense vibrations. The Quantum Camera demonstrated how light could be used to detect diseases like cancer earlier, while the Surgical Glove with Nano-Sensors gave surgeons a “sense of touch” during keyhole operations. We even made music with our smiles through Smile-Powered Pop Music, blending technology and creativity. In the Young Researcher Zone, students from across the UK showcased impressive projects of their own, proof that young people are already making waves in science.
With hands-on demos, live talks and mind-blowing ideas, this was a day to remember. Who knows, next time, it could be us presenting!
