Science

Welcome to Preston Manor Lower School's Science area.

Here at Preston Manor Lower School we see Science as a subject whereby children can explore, discover and investigate the world around them.

Through our Science curriculum we aim to make our children’s experiences as broad and varied as possible. We ensure that the areas of study set out by the National Curriculum are covered and wherever possible we aim to link these areas of study with our creative curriculum topics. This allows the children to gain a more deep and meaningful understanding of the area in Science they are covering.

We focus on developing children's scientific knowledge through encouraging a ‘hands on’ approach to their Science learning.  Children are encouraged to observe, investigate and question their world so that they arrive at answers to those questions, and reflect on what they have learnt.
